How to Clean a Bong: The Easy 5-Minute Method

What you'll need
- Isopropyl alcohol (99% works best) — or a purpose-made bong cleaner
- Coarse salt (rock or Epsom salt)
- Warm water
- Pipe cleaners or cotton buds for tight spots
- Two zip-lock bags or caps to seal the openings
The 5-minute method
- Empty and rinse. Tip out the old water and give the bong a warm-water rinse to clear loose residue.
- Add salt and alcohol. Pour a good amount of coarse salt into the chamber, then add isopropyl alcohol until the resin is submerged. The salt scrubs, the alcohol dissolves the resin.
- Seal and shake. Cap the openings (or use zip-lock bags) and shake for 1-2 minutes. Watch the gunk lift away.
