Frequently asked questions

Is a bong the same thing as a waterpipe? Yes. Waterpipe is the formal term and bong is the everyday one - both describe a pipe that draws smoke through a water chamber. You will see both used across this site and they mean the same product.

What is a percolator? A second chamber with slots or arms that splits the smoke into smaller bubbles before it reaches the water. More contact with water means more cooling. Honeycomb, tree arm and turbine are the common designs here.

Beaker or straight tube? A beaker base is wider at the bottom, so it holds more water and is harder to knock over. A straight tube holds less water and clears faster. Beakers are the more forgiving choice if it is your first.
