What is a drop cone? The removable cone-shaped piece that holds the material and drops into the downstem or joint. Cone piece, bowl and drop cone all describe the same part - the naming varies by shop, the fitting is what matters.
What size do I need? 14mm is the most common here, covering 26 of the 47 cones, with 18mm and 12mm also stocked. Match the size to your downstem or joint, not to the bong's overall size.
How do I measure my joint size? Measure the inside diameter across the opening the cone drops into. Roughly 14mm is a standard small fitting and roughly 18mm a standard large one. If it sits loose or will not seat, you have the wrong size.
Glass or metal cone? Glass keeps the taste clean and lets you see when it needs emptying. Metal will not crack if dropped and handles rougher use. Glass is the larger part of this range.
