A cone piece is the small removable bowl that holds dry herb at the top of a bong or waterpipe. It sits in the downstem, and lifting it out is what clears the chamber. In New Zealand it is also called a drop cone or a bong bowl; overseas listings usually say "bowl" or "slide".
Will a 14mm female cone piece fit my bong?
A 14mm female cone fits a 14mm male downstem or joint — the cone slides down over the stem. If your downstem is female (the cone drops inside it) you need a 14mm male cone instead. Measure the outside diameter of your joint before ordering: 14mm is the most common size on New Zealand waterpipes, with 18mm next.
How do you clean a glass cone piece?
Soak the cone in isopropyl alcohol with a pinch of coarse salt for 20 to 30 minutes, then shake, rinse under warm water and let it dry. Avoid dropping cold glass into hot water, which can crack it.
